Sweet Maple Buttercream Frosting

Rich, Decadent, and Buttery

I first made this recipe when I was looking for something to go with a spice cupcake. I was making some ADORABLE hedgehog cupcakes for Thanksgiving and a regular old frosting just wouldn’t do.

Now, the recipe calls for real maple syrup, and if you can come by it, that’s great. It does make a difference in flavor! But having said that, if you want to try it out, and you only have maple flavored pancake syrup lying around, guess what? It tastes good that way, too!

Warning… this recipe definitely works best in cooler weather. Between the butter and the syrup, it melts pretty easily.

Ingredients:

  • 1 Cup (2 Sticks) Salted Butter, Room Temp
  • 4 Cups Sifted Confectioner’s Sugar
  • 1 Tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 1/2 Cup Real Maple Syrup

Instructions:

Whip the butter, vanilla, and syrup in a stand mixer on medium speed until well mixed. Add the powdered sugar a little at a time, having extra on hand in case the frosting is too soft.

A little advice…. piping this on a Vanilla Cupcake and topping it with candied bacon will change your life.

You’re welcome.
