Lime Margarita Glaze

For Donuts, Cookies, or Bundt Cake!
I am a beach girl at heart.
I feel like the ocean and I share a special bond. The crashing of the surf, the wind in the palm trees, warm sand, coconut flavored drinks, and the smell of sunblock… I just came back from a beach vacation, can you tell? LOL
Honestly, though, my time at the beach has inspired me in so many ways, from conservation to cooking, and when I was asked to come up with some new, fresh flavors for National Donut Day this year, the first thing I thought of was Summer Drinks Inspired Donuts!
I took 3 of my favorite summer mocktails, and created donut flavors that would invoke those feelings of freedom and relaxation! Below is my recipe for Lime Margarita Glaze. You’ll find the recipe for Pina Colada Glaze HERE, and the recipe for Strawberry Daiquiri Glaze HERE.
Happy Summer, everyone!
Ingredients:
- 1 cup Powdered Sugar
- 1 tbsp light corn syrup
- 1 tbsp milk
- 1/2 tsp lime juice
- 1/2 tsp lemon juice
- 1 tsp lime zest
Instructions:
Using a wire whisk, mix all ingredients together. The glaze should be thick enough to coat a spoon, but thin enough to dip donuts in. If needed, add more powdered sugar for additional thickness, or more lime juice or milk for thinning.
TIP: If making margarita donuts or cookies, before the glaze hardens, add a crunchy topping of raw sugar and coarse salt. 🙂
